Dragon Realms Reborn

I suppose some folks would call me lucky to have a lot of memories from multiple past lives, but in all honesty I'm not so sure that the memories I have are a blessing or a curse.  The problem is that my negative memories are exquisitely detailed.  I can tell you what someone was wearing right down to the metal of their belt buckle in the negative memories.  But positive memories are more... emotional.  There's no real detail involved.  I know what happened but not much else.  This has me wondering why this is, and so I thought I'd bring this up here, since this is the Support and Advice forum and I am seeking advice here, or more specifically, I'm looking for answers.

I guess the main thing I need answered is whether or not this disparity in detail is normal.  Why can I remember every tiny detail in an extremely negative memory, but I find almost no details in positive ones?  It's bothered me for quite a few years now.  I've also noticed that my positive memories are only a recent development.  I originally Awakened in early 2009, and I think it was just within the last year or so that the first positive memory appeared to me.  I know these detail-less positive memories are memories, because they keep enduring in my mind and my soul won't let go of them.  It's this same endurance that helped me realize that my name is actually my real soul name and not just wishful thinking, and it's also this same endurance that has kept the negative memories firmly established as fact for me as well. 

Now, I was very badly abused as a child, and I was conditioned from an early age to only focus on the bad things in life.  I am aware that such constant negativity can have an adverse effect on my life, and if that is what's going on here (or if there's more to it than just that), I want to know about it so I can deal with it.  And if you don't know outright, do you know of a way I can find out?

I second this.  It'd be a wonderful idea.  Maybe put a size limit for each image so it doesn't overwhelm the site.

Now to just figure out how these things work...

The moderators have changed after the main servers went down...the days of 10-30 channels and draconic being populated and waned to about 1 and a half channels with people trying to salvage the community to a bearing where everyone's accepted.  Do I recommend going back to Draconic? The forum activity has been recent as of late, but as for the IRC...it pains me to see it in the state it is.  The difference is that Dragon Realms was created from that fomer oppression and the didn't have enough time to collect metadata and input (that's basically what DR 2.0 is). 

They want to learn from their mistakes since they're trying to re-capture the data from the old archives and use the new forums to make this place more spiritual and more of a sanctuary.

I originally got involved with this site because I pretty much left the Otherkin community altogether and felt like I should at least try to reconnect. 

Most of my experience with the Otherkin community has, in fact, been highly negative, because my kintype is unusual and I've had some very, shall we say unusual experiences since my Awakening when compared with most other people in the community.  My beliefs are also what some folks would call "fluffy" (basically a Neo-Pagan replacement for the Catholic Christian term "Heretical").  I've taken a lot of flak over the years for my differences of opinion from the majority, and as such it's kinda hard for me to really get into discussions here.  Even with all that, though, I do still check the forums, usually several times a day to see if anyone's said anything.

One thing I've noticed over the years is that Otherkin forums tend to be silent for long periods of time, and then you get one or two forums posts in a space of a few weeks and then you're back to months on end of silence.  It's not just this site that does it, but every Otherkin site I've ever been on (The original Dragon-Realms, Draconity.org, Draconic.com, etc.).  I've heard about the so-called "glory days" of the Otherkin community back when it was super active and so on, but that kind of ended with the demise of Rashan's forum, and IIRC, my Awakening took place just a couple months after that site shut down.  So I've never actually experienced the aforementioned "glory days," and the months of silence followed by a few days of activity followed by further months of silence in the Otherkin community is really all I've ever experienced of it.

When it comes right down to what I want, though... honestly, I just want an open forum where I can discuss my experiences and thoughts without feeling like a total idiot.  The way my experiences in life have been, I might never find a place like that especially in the Otherkin community, but at the very least I can hope, and keep trying.  Also, I've met some nice people in the community and I rather miss them, so I'm here.

I hear you on this, I just got kicked from Otherkin.net and Draconia on Discord
